At Carbon Foresight, our success is dependent on achieving positive economic, social and environmental outcomes. With this in mind, we have developed a sustainability policy to guide and continually improve our efforts in the areas of business operations, sustainable consumption, and our role in the community.

We will demonstrate sustainable business practices and lead by example, in particular with respect to energy, water, and material use.

We will provide a safe and respectful workplace where our employees are highly valued, treated fairly and encouraged to make a difference. Carbon Foresight’s team members are our most important resource and we are dedicated to creating an atmosphere that supports them and their values.

Our offices are located in a bright and beautifully restored factory warehouse space that offers indoor bicycle parking, a rooftop garden, solar water heating, and a 250 square foot living and breathing bio-wall.

All our office paper is either Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified or 100% recycled and processed without the use of chlorine or chlorine compounds.

Any paper that comes into our office either leaves in a useful state or is recycled.

We strive to reduce our footprint by using better communication technology. This means teleconferencing instead of driving or flying, and presenting virtually instead of printing.

Despite efforts to reduce our printing, we inevitably find ourselves producing printed material. As a result, we are committed to searching for printers that effectively manage their environmental impacts. For example, our business cards are printed on FSC-certified stock, with 100% post-consumer recycled content, using vegetable-based dyes, by a printer that uses a waterless printing process that eliminates emissions to both water and air.

Carbon Foresight hosts its website through Ethical Hosting, a Toronto-based carbon neutral organization that uses renewable energy and carbon offsets for their servers and computers. Our website host also donates 10% of their pre-tax profits to nonprofits, social organizations, and other groups that support conservation of the environment, social justice or human rights.

Carbon Foresight believes our responsibility extends far beyond our own impacts. We have cultivated strong relationships with other individuals, organizations, and communities that share our values. By working in this way we can improve the quality of our programs and increase the reach of our message.

Carbon Foresight supports a range of charitable organizations chosen by the team.
